Description: Allegorical scene, approx. 3'x4' 6", oil on masonite, by JACK BICE, 1949, painted when the artist was a graduate student, studying with Max Beckmann, at the University of Colorado, Boulder. Beckmann painted the surface of the raised arm in the foreground. The painting was last seen presumably being taken to the Boulder city dump when the artist moved to Buffalo, New York, in 1963, although there is a possibility it was salvaged and kept by persons unknown. Description: Allegory, approx.14"x18", wax crayon-transfer, watercolor drawing-painting on watercolor paper, by JACK BICE, 1951. White, wood framed, glassed. The work was last seen in Albuquerque, New Mexico, 1985 - 1998. There is a possibility it was mistaken as a cast-off work in a private home, but salvaged and kept or sold by persons unknown. Description: "Red Painting", approx. 4'x5', oil on canvas, by JACK BICE. The work was painted in Boulder, Colorado, summer, 1967. It was last seen in Buffalo, New York, 1968. It had been lent for safe-keeping to an acquaintance. She was studying video art techniques at Media Studies, in Buffalo, when the artist moved to Siena, Italy for a year. It was rumored to have been seen in an apartment in Buffalo in 1970. The person was said to have moved later to Florida. This was one of two Bice paintings and one Hamouda sculpture (see AMY HAMOUDA) "borrowed" by the person. Reward: contact (LOST or STOLEN ART is not a party to any reward offer.) |
